How personalization works
- Understands what you need — identifies which students, groups, activities, standards, or skills you're referring to, based on what you say or type

How CodaClass fits with assessment tools, SIS, and other systems
CodaClass is built to work alongside systems you already use—your assessment platform and your student information system (SIS) for enrollment and records. It is not a replacement for those tools. Instead, CodaClass uses roster, assessment, observation, and IEP data in its backend so answers, plans, and documentation stay grounded in the children you actually teach. Interoperability is spreadsheet-first both ways: bring assessment and classroom outputs into CodaClass (and upload documents like IEPs), and export CSV and similar formats when you need to move data back into your assessment system, SIS, or other tools your program already relies on.
Who we are
CodaClass is made by Codachord in collaboration with preschool teachers, families, and early learning experts. Our team brings QRIS development experience, past ERS and CLASS certification, and real insights from hundreds of classroom observations and hundreds of interviews with teachers, program directors, and families. We're committed to reducing administrative burden and simplifying compliance—without dictating how you teach.

The rating legend and summaries by domain and by level appear above the table. For a whole class report, each step shows a horizontal bar of level counts across the class. For one child, the table matches the Skills page. If you used domain or standard filters, matching learning areas and steps are highlighted when possible.

This demo has an inventory of just 30 entries. In the full version, you can draw from an extensive preloaded inventory catalog with hundreds of entries, and your classroom inventory can mix those items with your own custom entries for songs, transition routines, stories, and more.

Import benchmark descriptions
Use a CSV to load your own benchmark wording in bulk. Row 1 is the column headers only (see examples with exact wording required). Each following row is one benchmark: benchmark code (1.A.ECa), and the text you want for learning standard, exploring, developing, and building.
Use these header names exactly in row 1 (spaces and spelling count). Include one code column and at least one text column. Any text column you do not list in the file is left as it was in the app.

Quick save sends notes to pending for review on the Observations screen. Review and save shows a preview so tags and standards can be confirmed or changed before saving.
Assistant inventory suggestions
When enabled, Assistant recommendations and plans use only materials marked as in your classroom. When disabled, all appropriate items can appear. Inventory is managed on the Inventory screen.

CodaClass gives directors a center-wide view of documentation, coverage, ratios, and attendance — and flags what’s missing before a quality review or IEP meeting. Everything ties back to the same evidence teachers create in class, so oversight and compliance come from real classroom work rather than extra paperwork.
Start here
- Open Director Overview to review all rooms, status badges, observation progress, KDI/domain coverage, ratios, and attendance.
- Use the room chips to compare one room, a few rooms, or the whole center. The widgets and room cards update to match your selection.
- Change the targets for observations per child, KDI domains, ratio, or lookback window to see how the dashboard responds.
- Spot gaps before a review — use the summary tiles and coverage widgets to see which rooms are behind on documentation or over ratio.
- Use Pre-K Room A for drill-downs in Assistant, Students, Observations, Daily Log, Progress, and Reports. That is where the real demo records are loaded.
What the director demo shows
- Director Overview - A center-level dashboard with one card per room, summary tiles, configurable targets, and widgets for documentation, ratio, attendance, standards, and domain coverage.
- Pre-K Room A - A working room with real demo records for a ten-child Pre-K roster (including Coda, Melody, Aria, and classmates). Use its Open Progress and Open Reports buttons to review the same child-level data a teacher sees.
- Toddler Room B - A sample aggregate room with synthetic children and strong documentation coverage, useful for seeing what an on-track room looks like.
- Infant Room C - A sample aggregate room with synthetic children and lighter documentation coverage, useful for seeing how needs-attention signals appear.
- Assistant, Students, Observations, Daily Log, Progress, and Reports - These working screens only have loaded demo data for Pre-K Room A. If you select Toddler or Infant room scope, those screens may be empty because those rooms are dashboard-only samples.
Tips for reviewing the director demo
Director Overview
- Use the summary tiles to see how many selected rooms are meeting documentation targets, behind on KDI coverage, or over ratio.
- Use the widget chips to show or hide dashboard cards depending on what you want to review.
- The domain and standards widgets help spot whether documentation is broad or concentrated in a few areas.
Room Scope
- Select Pre-K Room A when you want real child-level data in Assistant, Students, Observations, Daily Log, Progress, or Reports.
- Select Toddler Room B or Infant Room C to review aggregate room signals in Director Overview only.
- If a drill-down screen looks empty, switch the room scope back to Pre-K Room A.
Best Demo Flow
- Start in Director Overview, compare all three rooms, then narrow to one room with the room chips.
- Adjust targets to show how CodaClass flags documentation gaps and ratio concerns.
- Switch to Pre-K Room A, then open Progress or Reports to show how center-level signals connect back to child-level records.
This demo has sample data for a Pre-K classroom (Coda, Aria, and their classmates). Please don’t enter real or sensitive information.
A day with Coda
Coda is a 4-year-old with a severe peanut allergy on file. Follow him through a normal day to see what CodaClass does for every child.

1. Capture an observation by voice
Open the Assistant, turn on Observation, and just say what you saw. CodaClass writes it up and automatically tags the developmental domain, the setting, and the matching learning standards — even in a loud classroom.

2. Review and approve
Pending notes wait in Observations. Check the suggested domain and standards, attach a photo or video, then approve or edit — you stay in control of everything that’s saved.

Record attendance, meals, and nap for the whole class in the Daily Log. This same log feeds directly into family updates, so a note home reflects the whole day.

4. Send families an update — in their language
Pick Coda and a date range, then Write Family Update. CodaClass drafts a warm, specific note from observations and the day’s log (snack, nap, and notes). Edit it, translate to any of 13 languages, and send.

5. Plan an activity with built-in evidence
Turn on Lesson Plan and describe what you want. CodaClass pairs your request with Coda’s file — his standards progress, interests, and his peanut allergy — and with what’s checked in your classroom Inventory, so plans come back personalized, allergy-aware, and grounded in materials you actually have on hand. Already have a plan? Upload it and CodaClass checks it against each child’s needs and the standards it hits.
